Weekly Vocabulary
Vocabulary tests are given each Friday unless otherwise noted.
1. principal - the leader of a school. "A principal who gets to know the students will be a better leader."
2. fine - very nice. "The sun shines and the air is clear. It is a fine day for the school yard sale." 3. proud - pleased with yourself or someone else. "These young actors feel proud of their terrific performance in a school play." 4. strolled - walked slowly. "Students and their families strolled for miles to raise money for charity." 5. announced - made known. "Each day, a different student announced school news over a loudspeaker." 6. certainly - surely. "We certainly should turn off lights when not using them. This will surely save energy." 7. soared - flew upward. "Colorful kites soared high in the sky at the school;s cultural fair." 8. worried - uneasy or anxious. "The boy is worried. He is afraid rain will ruin the class field trip."
